Action on Carbon and Energy in Schools (ACES)

New and updated energy efficiency checklist

Free to download

Are you interested in improving the energy performance of your school buildings but not sure where to start? We’ve refreshed and published a new energy efficiency checklist for schools. It’s available to download here.

Energy efficiency checklist for your school

The checklist is an easy-to-follow guide designed to start you on your energy efficiency journey. It will help you identify areas for improvement and provide a clear pathway to simple but effective ways to start saving energy quickly.

It also gives an overview of the more in-depth actions you can take to cut your energy use, such as installing rooftop solar panels or replacing your heating system.

Funding available for county-maintained schools

The question of how to fund such improvements is crucial. Recently Oxfordshire County Council re-launched their interest free loan scheme to enable county-maintained schools to install LED lighting and/or solar PV panels. You can find out more about this funding opportunity here.
